Jeplune Music introduces Songs of the week

Songs of the week

As part of our effort to promote Godly content, we have introduced a new songs of the week feature on our home page. The songs of the week would be changed every Sunday to reflect recent releases.

Basically, the idea is that 3 songs would be selected from the Christian Contemporay music or Christian Hip pop music released by Nigerian artists each week. The selection would be based on the relevance of the message delivered in each song and the melody.

Terms and conditions

For a song to qualify to be among the songs of the week, the following conditions have to be met.

  1. The song must have a positive message. Our vision at Jeplune Music is to promote more positive content in the media.
  2. The song must be within 2 weeks of it’s release. We will not accept songs that have been released for more than 2 weeks. The only exception to this rule is when we find that the message of the song is extremely relevant.
  3. Information about the song, including the streaming/ download links has to be on our site. This information would be hosted under New Releases. However, a small token of N1,000 has to be paid by the artist in order for information about the song to be on the site.

Note that New Releases is quite different from Free Downloads.

What’s the difference between Free Downloads and New Releases

Free Download is one of our pages that contain songs which you could download directly from Jeplune Music. The artists must have submitted to song to us before it’s release and indicated that they would want the songs to be downloaded free.

New releases on the other hand, is page that contains information about a newly released song. The information includes, the artist, release date, a little about the message of the song and streaming/ download links to the song. Songs on new releases do not necessarily have to be available on jeplune.com for download.

How do I submit my song for song of the week?

Simple. Just send an email to jeplunemusic@gmail.com with title of email as ‘SONG OF THE WEEK SUBMISSION’. Attach an mp3 of the song and the artwork. Also add information like the release date, artists featured (if any), producer, and what inspired the song.

Note that whether or not your song qualifies for the song of the week, as long you’ve submitted it and paid the N1,000 token, it will definitely be on the New Releases page. The songs of the week would however be selected from among the submissions for the week. And only 3 songs would be selected per week.

Jeplune Music starts Music Promotion services in Nigeria

Jeplune Music promotion services

In a bid to keep up with her vision to promote godly content in the media, Jeplune Music, today, launched a new arm for Music promotion services in Nigeria. A new facebook page, Naija CCM and CHH Music was created to this effect. We created this page as an arm of Jeplune Music to promote Contemporary Christian Music and Christian HipHop music by Nigerian artistes or bands.

According to the management, “we saw the need to do this because quite a number of the clients we have worked for, at Jeplune Music Studios, have asked for this service. And since it is part of the vision of the outfit, we thought it was time for us to ‘up our game’ and include music promotion services too”. This service is open to any Christian artiste or band in Nigeria.

We’ve also recently introduced a Songs of the week feature on our home page to further facilitate our music promotion services in Nigeria.

Our Music reviews (both private and public) still continue. We would even start publishing recent happenings with regards to Christian artists in Nigeria, especially those that would edify the Body of Christ. So, if you have any such news that you want publicized as a Christian artiste, feel free to contact us.

To use our music promotion services in Nigeria, please ensure you contact us 3 weeks before the release date of the song. You can send us a message on:

Three Inexpensive Things You Need To Promote Your Song

inexpensive things you need to promote your song

Today, I will be sharing three inexpensive things you need to promote your song in the 21st Century. I feel it’s logical to share this with you guys since I encouraged us last week to use what we already have.

First of all, it is worthy to note that prior to promotion, you must have produced good music. This is very important, because no matter how much you promote crab, people will not love it, except you have a huge budget for promotion. But my guess is that you are reading this article because you don’t have millions of Naira (or whatever currency you use in your country) kept specifically for promoting your music, so you have to work extra hard to bring out good stuff. I might probably dedicate another article later to write on this. But for now, let’s focus on the inexpensive things you need for promoting your song.

The first thing you need is quality graphic designs.

Let’s face it, the first thing anyone would see before they hit the link to listen to your song is your cover art. It’s your cover art that would determine whether or not they would hit that link. So, you really need to invest in getting a quality and attractive design for your cover art. Don’t just think you can do it yourself, except you’re a graphic designer. Thankfully, getting a professional design is not expensive. It would not even cost up to one-fifth of what you spent to produce the song. Katapult Design is one of the design firms that makes amazing designs and at affordable rates.

The second thing you need is a lyric video.

We live in an era where visuals is everything. Having something visual to accompany your song is very essential for promotion these days. And since my focus in this article is inexpensive things you need for promotion, lyric videos are effective alternatives to the more expensive music videos. In a later article, I will explain what a lyric video is and the advantages of having lyric videos. But for now, know that having a lyric video is essential for promoting your song. Jeplune Music Studios is one place you can get professional lyric videos at affordable rates.

The third thing you need, which in actual sense is not really a ‘thing’, is friends.

Yeah, you cannot effectively promote your song alone. You need your friends to help you. This is especially necessary since you might not have the budget to pay digital marketers/ bloggers. Even if you have the huge budget to pay bloggers/ digital marketers, you still need friends. Get your friends to post about your song, share the link and the (awesome) cover art on their social media outlets at the same time (if possible). This usually has a huge impact on people when they see the same design on three or more people’s story or timeline or status (whatever). You can also plead with them to do short videos with their phones singing along to your song, and make sure you repost as they upload such videos.

Finally, these things I mentioned in this article are not all it takes to promote your song, if you have a moderate or higher budget for promotion, there are a whole lot of things you can still do to get your music to a wider range of audience from across the world. This article was specifically focused on how to promote your song in the 21st century using three inexpensive things/ resources you already have. This is my own way of encouraging you to use what you have.
