Immortality – BK ft. Brief Illneiss

Immortality - BK

Immortality is a song by highly talented Nigerian Christian HipHop artist, BK featuring Brief Illneiss. The song reminds believers in this world of pain and temptations that in eternity, immortality will swallow up mortality. And so, despite the (spiritual and mind) battles we fight here on earth, it will all be over one day.

Talking about his inspiration for Immortality and the message, BK said:

“I was inspired to write this song from 1 Corinthians 15: 53-54. Immortality captures the journey of the ‘Regenerated Man’ in a ‘Degenerated World’ & highlights the battles he has to fight in between!

My man, ‘Brieffie’ laces the hook and encapsulates how mortality will eventually be swallowed up by Immortality! In my verse, I used the analogy of ‘Mortal Kombat’ to capture the journey and battles we all have to fight till the very end; when all things are made brand new!”

Besides the strong Biblically truth contained in Immortality, you will thrilled by the skill with which BK arranged and delivered his rhymes beautifully. Heads up; dude rhymed for 2 straight minutes without break in the song. And he was spitting Biblically truth.

Immortality by BK is set to be released on the 13th of June, 2022. You can follow BK on Facebook for more updates regards the release. We also update this press release with the streaming links when they are out.

Heartsease – Amo Lasisi (Press release)

Heartsease - Amo

Nigerian Christian Contemporary Music singer and songwriter, Amo Lasisi has announced the release of his debut single, Heartsease. The title, Heartsease is a figurative translation of an Hausa phrase ‘Dadi na’. The song basically reminds Christians that God is enough for us.

Amo Lasisi is a very talented singer and songwriter. He has been featured in several songs by other artists and has done some covers as well. Heartsease is however his first original release and he is quite excited about it.

Talking about Heartsease, Amo said,

“I wrote this song in the heat of the pandemic in 2020. I struggled with depression at the time from what felt like a resurfaced past wanting to become a reality of the now. The lockdown and financial woes that followed as a complimentary package made that season a tough one.  I remember praying (for the times I could) and hoping for life to return to normal just so I could get the chance to mingle, hopefully I’d get cured of depression at least. In the stead of what I prayed for, God granted me peace to go through that season. The assurance of his presence, and that he being in my life was enough – that I get to do life in and with him, that was a game changer for me.

So that what started off as a rough year ended up becoming one of the finest and most treasured seasons of my life. The problems did not magically disappear, but I was reminded of the presence of my Father who was staring the trajectory of my life that ultimately becomes a fragment of His own story, not mine.

So, just like me, life happens to us at different twists and turns. I’m only glad and honored that the Lord would birth through me this sound to encourage His children. So that in lack or plenty, stormy or still waters, he remains our all in all. Dadin mu gaskiya shine baban mu (our enjoyment truly is our Father). Dear believer, I hope this truth encourages your heart and more as we look forward to Heart’s Ease.”

Heartsease is set to be released on 9th June, 2022. You can follow Amo Lasisi on Facebook for details about the release of Heartsease. This press release would also be updated when the streaming links are out.

Almasihu – Justus Istifanus (Press release)

Almasihu - Justus Istifanus

Nigerian Gospel singer, Justus Istifanus has announced the release of his new single titled, Almasihu. This is coming after his last single, Ayeye in 2021. Almasihu is an Hausa word that literally translates ‘Messiah’.

Talking about the song and his inspiration for Almasihu, Justus Istifanus said,

“My inspiration for Almasihu came from Litaffin Wakoki Hymn 89. The first two stanzas of the hymn made me reflect deeply on the ordeal Christ had to go through just to show his love for us. Jesus had (and has) the power to destroy all the sinners in the world today, and make a new (perfect) people for His pleasure. It could have been as simple as a snap of a finger. But instead, he chose to identify with sin, just to get rid of sin. He took our Sin and gave us life. The words of the song lead me to many scriptures. Scriptural verses like Philippians 2:7 which shows us how he left his glorious throne and became a servant all for love. John 3:16 & 17, where God revealed himself as our only Hope and Messiah, an acted in a way that is not humanly comprehensible. Then there is John 14:6 which further points me to Jesus as the only Way to the father, the Truth and Life. All these, lead me to give praise to ALMASIHU (Messiah) because He deserves all the praise. He’s indeed a Messiah. Psalms 72: 19 says, ‘…let his glory subdue the whole earth’. The song speaks to me each time, and pushes me to meditate on this love we all didn’t deserve…”

Almasihu (Messiah) by Justus Istifanus is set to be released on the 14th of May 2022. You can follow Justus Istifanus on Facebook for more updates with regards to the release of the song.

Put On – Ayokunle (Press release)

Put on by Ayokunle

Nigerian Christian contemporary singer and music producer, Ayokunle has announced the release of another single, titled Put On. This is coming a few weeks after his last single, Unconditional love, with Degeneral.

Put On was inspired from Ephesians 6:10 -20 where the Bible encourages believers to put on the whole armour of God in order to fight and resist the enemy (the devil).

Talking about the inspiration for Put On and how it speaks to him, Ayokunle said,

“I got the inspiration for this song from Eph 6:10-20. I wrote Put on with the understanding of the promise of God in that scripture, which teaches how to overcome wickedness and live a victorious life.

Put On gives me the conviction and strengthens my faith with the assurance that my victory in life is sure. This is because of the understanding of the knowledge of God’s Word. Remember that it is lack of knowledge that causes believers to perish.”

Put On is set to be released on the 27th of May, 2022. You can follow Ayokunle on Facebook for details about the release. We will also update this press release with the streaming/ download links when they are out. Meanwhile you can listen to Ayokunle’s last single with Degeneral, Unconditional Love.

These Songs EP- Aizek (Story behind the songs)

These Songs - Aizek

On Thursday, 5th May, 2022, Aizek released a surprise EP titled These Songs, to mark his birthday. These Songs is a 5- track EP packed with deep and meaningful songs that all speak of grace. The genre of the EP is Christian Hip pop.

I got in touch with Aizek and he shared a little story behind These songs EP and why He gave it that title.

Here’s what He said,

“5th May is a special day for me, my birthday. Like two weeks ago the idea to work on something and release it on my birthday came heavily on me, then I hit my bro Vblaiz so we can work on it and we did. These Songs is a celebration of the life I’ve been given and the grace of God on my life. That’s where the idea came from for These Songs. The title doesn’t have any deep meaning, just me sharing a 5 track EP. 5th May – 5/5 and the title is 5/5 too. The first letter of each track spells these…so These Songs.

The entire EP was produced, mixed and mastered by my bro Vblaiz. From ‘The Intro’ to ‘Ends with Eleven’ (which is another version of the song Eleven originally produced by Uncle Q & Hanniel) you’ll see the theme of God’s grace, that’s something you can’t miss while listening to the project.”

Aizek is a rap artist with D.P.E Records. He has two published projects and several other singles. His motivation to write and rap comes from a worldview that is shaped by God and life’s experiences.

You  can stream or buy These songs using this link.

You can also follow Aizek on Facebook to get more about his music.

Jeplune Music introduces Songs of the week

Songs of the week

As part of our effort to promote Godly content, we have introduced a new songs of the week feature on our home page. The songs of the week would be changed every Sunday to reflect recent releases.

Basically, the idea is that 3 songs would be selected from the Christian Contemporay music or Christian Hip pop music released by Nigerian artists each week. The selection would be based on the relevance of the message delivered in each song and the melody.

Terms and conditions

For a song to qualify to be among the songs of the week, the following conditions have to be met.

  1. The song must have a positive message. Our vision at Jeplune Music is to promote more positive content in the media.
  2. The song must be within 2 weeks of it’s release. We will not accept songs that have been released for more than 2 weeks. The only exception to this rule is when we find that the message of the song is extremely relevant.
  3. Information about the song, including the streaming/ download links has to be on our site. This information would be hosted under New Releases. However, a small token of N1,000 has to be paid by the artist in order for information about the song to be on the site.

Note that New Releases is quite different from Free Downloads.

What’s the difference between Free Downloads and New Releases

Free Download is one of our pages that contain songs which you could download directly from Jeplune Music. The artists must have submitted to song to us before it’s release and indicated that they would want the songs to be downloaded free.

New releases on the other hand, is page that contains information about a newly released song. The information includes, the artist, release date, a little about the message of the song and streaming/ download links to the song. Songs on new releases do not necessarily have to be available on jeplune.com for download.

How do I submit my song for song of the week?

Simple. Just send an email to jeplunemusic@gmail.com with title of email as ‘SONG OF THE WEEK SUBMISSION’. Attach an mp3 of the song and the artwork. Also add information like the release date, artists featured (if any), producer, and what inspired the song.

Note that whether or not your song qualifies for the song of the week, as long you’ve submitted it and paid the N1,000 token, it will definitely be on the New Releases page. The songs of the week would however be selected from among the submissions for the week. And only 3 songs would be selected per week.

Bani Rai Album by Bali Davou (Press Release)

Bani Rai - Bali Davou

Nigerian Christian Rock singer, Bali Davou has announced the release of his debut album, Bani Rai. “Bani Rai” is an Hausa expression which literally translates “give me life” in English.

After eighteen years of doing music, Bali Davou is finally ready to release his debut album. Bani Rai Album is a 10 track album packed with great songs with deep lyrics and beautiful melodies. The genre of the album is basically Christian Rock; only one of the tracks is a traditional pop song. All the songs in the album were written and performed by Bali Davou.

“Bani Rai Album is an album I have been working on for more than a decade now. The Album is made up of 10 songs. It’s my life story embedded in different songs. This whole album is talking about my salvation”.

With respect to the album release, Bali Davou released the first single off the album on the 17th of April, 2022. The track is titled, Dogara ga Sunan Yesu. You can download Dogara ga Sunan Yesu on Kr8 radio for free.

I had the privilege to chat a little with Bali about his upcoming album and the single he just released. Here is our chat:

Spirit: You’ve been doing music for more than a decade now. What motivated you to release an album at this time?

Bali Davou: I have been practicing music as a profession for 18 years now and in these 18 years, I have written a lot of good songs. Sometimes, I perform them in concerts and churches. But with a lot of persuasion from my wife, friends and colleagues, I finally decided to record and bring the Bani Rai Album to life.

Spirit: Awesome! So, what does the album mean to you; how do the songs affect you as a person?

Bali Davou: It means a lot to me personally. The entire Bani Rai Album is birthed out of my personal encounter with Jesus. Each time I listen to the songs, it reminds me of where I am coming from and where I am going to.

Spirit: Now you just released one song from the album, Dogara ga Sunan Yesu. Can you share a little story behind the song?

Bali Davou: Last year 2021 was a turbulent year for my family as we lost 7 close relatives. And so, as I was preparing for my Wife’s Grand father’s funeral, I was asked to sing that hymn (Dogara ga Sunan Yesu). I decided to give it a different touch so people won’t feel sad because of the tragedies that bedeviled the family. And that’s how the song was born.

Spirit: Thank you very much, Bali.

Bani Rai Album is set to be released on the 15th of May, 2022. You can follow Bali Davou on Facebook for updates about the album release.
